Be Mine Cutie Pie

This year for Valentine's Day, I found so many cute free printables from various blogs. My favorites are the subway art ones. I used one in my mantel display. And another one for the vignette on top of my TV armoire.

But I had a third one that I wanted to use as well. This one I decided would work perfect on my family room shelf. I found this one on Tip Junkie blog.

I just love easy art. Print it out, cut it & slap it in a frame. Easy peasy! Plus it was FREE!!!!!

Here it is on my shelf. Isn't it cute? I just love it.

My other new love is making lollies or medallions or whatever you want to call them.

I added them to the bottles.

I used stuff I already had on hand.

I started off adding a little glitter to give it some bling.

Then I added even more. I did finally stop as I got glitter in my eyes. Not great when you wear hard contacts. Not great even if you wear soft contacts or even if you don't wear any contacts.

I hot glued some twine on the back so I could tie them onto the bottles.

I made a big one to hang on the mirror. This one I made out of a Dollar Tree dictionary and some music I printed off the computer.

I've found a couple of different tutorials on the web for making these. The larger outer one I made following this video.

But most of mine I do it a different way. I couldn't find the link where I learned to make them, but I found a video that is closest to what I do. You can find it here. Except that I use hot glue for putting them together. I just use what I have.

I think of love birds at Valentine's Day. So I added this pair of birdies to be my "Love Birds". I got them last year at Christmas time from Target.

Last year I found a cherub punch at Dollar Tree. I punched out a bunch from my Dollar Tree Thesaurus and used them as scatters.

I cut out a bunch of hearts from my Dollar Store dictionary and some music I printed out on paper. If you don't have vintage sheet music, you can find some you can print out from The Graphics Fairy. I happen to find a book of organ music at the thrift store. I just copy a page whenever I need to use some for a project.

I hung the paper hearts from my willow branches using left over ornament hooks from Christmas.

I added an "X" and an "O" that I got from TJ Maxx last year. And I called the shelf done.
