It's Bunny Time!

The bunnies have started to take over.

That can only mean one thing.

Time for bunny stew. Just kidding.

Easter is almost here.

I decided I better get decorating for Easter. You know, before Easter is over.

But that meant, climbing up into the garage rafters to retrieve boxes full of Easter stuff.

I decided that 2 boxes was my limit for carrying down the steps. You see, I ain't no spring chicken anymore. But I'm not old yet either. I'm in that midlife stage where I just don't feel like doing as much as I used to. And I really don't care. So there.

Besides, the two boxes had plenty of stuff for me to decorate with. I didn't even use half of what I got down.

So let's get to what I did use. Quit stalling girl and get on with it!

Today I'll show you the table behind my family room sofa. And you will notice that I never show you my sofa as it is sooooooooooooooo dirty. And it's broken and I hate the sofa. I need a new one. I'm hoping my son will feel sorry for me and buy me a new sofa for Mother's Day. Hint, hint!!!

I covered the sofa table with some burlap at Christmas time. I liked it, so I left it.

Those of you who visit me from time to time, know that I love me some cloches. Under this cloche I placed a thrift store bunny. I sat him on a small glass bowl to raise him up and then placed pink Easter grass around him. I have no imagination when it comes to placing things under glass. At least right now. I'm not feeling the "creativity bug". So easy and simple wins out.

The best part of this vignette is that I spent no money. I just used stuff I already had on hand. But then, I have a lot of stuff on hand.

I love these foil bunnies. I found them at TJ Maxx a few years back.

Under this cloche I left the urn & green shrub ball from last month. I just added the 3 bunnies I found at Target last year or the year before.

I love these bunnies. I think they are so cute.

I've had the lattice basket for years and years. I filled it with some battery operated candles and some fake greenery from Dollar Tree. You know, stuff I have on hand.

The purple flower balls came from Tai Pan Trading last year. I have not a clue what type of flowers they are suppose to be. I'm terrible at remembering what things are called. That is the hardest part of writing a blog. My mind goes completely blank when it's time to type. It's a good thing I don't have to make my living from writing. Or I'd be poorer than I already am.

Well I hope you liked my little Easter vignette. I have a couple more to show you over the next week or so. It depends on my picture taking. I'm only home in the morning and in the evening. Both times, the light is terrible in my house.

I want to leave you with one more image that has nothing to do with Easter, but everything to do with my funk.

This is probably the last time I will ever see gas less than $4.00 a gallon. Well I know that $3.999 is $4.00 a gallon (in a Sunday suit), but technically it's still under $4.00.

I took this photo at my local Sam's Club in Riverside, CA on Friday 4/8/11. I'm sure that the price of gas has now gone over $4.00. Can you believe it?

So all of you who don't live in California. Count your lucky stars, or your pennies. As I'm sure you aren't paying $4.00 a gallon yet for gas. But just wait, you will.

And now they are saying that gas will reach $5.00 a gallon by summer. All I know is that I won't be leaving home, as I won't be able to afford the gas to go anywhere. So much for the economy getting back on track. If no one can afford the gas to go anywhere, no one is going to be spending money! It's a good thing I have a lot of stuff to decorate with. At least I will have something to do while stuck at home. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now.

Take care. I hope that I haven't depressed you all with the price of gas. I just didn't want to be alone in my gas price funk. And to think, gas was only 55 cents a gallon when I first was learning to drive back in the mid 70's. Let's bring back the 70's. Then again, let's not. I hated high school.

  1. You do too have creativeness! Sometimes less is more. Those bunnies remind me of the foil wrapped chocolate bunnies. YUM! Don't you just love those battery operated candles? I bought a bunch of them at Big Lots after Christmas and I am still using them!~Ames
