I'm late,to Marty's cloche party! But I have a good excuse, I just barely got back from vacation. My originally plan was to take my photos before I left for vacation so I could post while I was away. But did I take my photos before leaving? Heck no.
You had to wait until I got home so I could take the photos so I could join the party.
So here I am, better late than never.
This cloche sits on top of my china hutch. I added 3 bottle brush trees and 2 small birdy ornies that came from Target last year. I topped it off with a "joy" ornament from the 99 cent only store. I placed a glittered Believe below. I think it came from Michael's last year or the year before.
This is my newest cloche. I just got it on my trip to Arizona. It came from an antique store in Phoenix. It's not an antique, but I don't care. It's a mercury glass tree under a dome. So it works for me.
I passed this up the first trip to this antique store by talking myself out of it. But by the end of my vacation, I just had to have it. Luckily it was still there when I went back.
Under this small cloche I placed a vintage looking snowman ornie on a bed of snow. Behind the snowman I have a vintage small feather tree that I got last year at an antique store. I then placed a jingle bell garland around the base. I love how the jingle bells are tarnished this year.
I've had these kissing angles for years. I placed them in this cloche on a bed of snow with another of my vintage feather trees behind.
Under this cheese dome cloche I placed some pine cone ornies that I got last year at Walmart on clearance along with some snow covered real pine cones and some glittered stars that came from Big Lots last year. I placed it all on a bed of snow and strung a garland of jingle bells from Dollar Tree (new this year).
These 3 cloches sit on the right side of the base to my china hutch.
On the left side I have these 3 apothecary jars.
In this one I placed some gold & silver small pine cone ornaments on a bed of snow. These were clearance items last year.
This jar holds some jingle bells that came from Dollar Tree last year. They did have them again this year.
This jar is filled with snow/glittered covered pine cones. I just got them this year, but I've already forgotten from where. I'm thinking TJ Maxx as I had a gift card to use there. The silver dove hanging from the lid is a thrift store ornie from last year.
I've already shown you the cabinet that sits at the end of my kitchen cabinets. But I want to show you a few things again. Like this apothecary jar filled with jingle bells. Most of the bells came from Dollar Tree over the past few years. I hung a "Joy" ornament from the lid. I picked this up a few years back from a local florist shop.
This cloche has some glittered pine cone ornaments. The smaller ones came from Walmart last year on clearance. The larger one I just got a few weeks back at my local thrift store for 50 cents. I like to hang snowflake ornies from some of my cloches. I seem to collect snowflake ornaments.
And now we will move on to the tray that sits on top of my white trunk in my family room. I was going to place snow on the tray, but didn't have time before taking these photos. I was losing daylight fast.
This cloche is decorated the same as last year. I really like this snowman. I got him last year, but can't remember where. I added a couple of glittered pencil starfish. I like how they look like stars and I love how the German glass glitter on them has tarnished over the past year. Added some "faux" snow. Even the jingle bell garland is tarnished.
These next two cloches I call my "cloche within a cloche". I got this snowman globe ornie at TJ Maxx a few weeks back with my gift card. I placed it on a candlestick on a bed of snow. Then I added a small forest of white bottle brush trees.
Isn't the snowman just too cute?
I picked up this small glass dome last year at an antique mall. Not sure if it is vintage. But I love that it looks vintage if it is not. I placed it on a candle holder on a bed of snow as well.
I wish my photos had turned out better. But I was working with fading light and having lights on in the house gave some of the photos some glare. Oh well. At least you are getting to see what I have done this year.
I did pick up another glass dome & base at a Salvation army while on vacation for $1.70. But I didn't have time to decorate it. Plus I want to paint the base. You will just have to wait to see what I do with it. I have no clue right now.
Oh well, I hope that you enjoyed my cloches & apothecary jars.
I'm hoping to finish up my Christmas decorating this weekend. I don't even have my tree up yet and Christmas is in 2 weeks. Yikes! Time is just flying by.
Be sure to stop by A Stroll Thru Life blog and tell Marty "Hi". And be sure to visit all the other party goers and their cloches. I just love seeing how everyone decorates with theirs.
And hopefully I will share photos of some of the fabulous stores I found while in Phoenix. And show you some of the stuff I bought.
