Winter?

The Calendar says it is January.

Last time I checked, January was smack dab in the middle of.....

I should be saying.....

And seeing.....

Not angels silly. Snowflakes.

But wait......

I live in southern California. We don't get snowflakes here. Well a couple of times we did.

But not this week. As Mother Nature has her calendar messed up, or at least her hemispheres.

As she is making the weather here seem more like....

As in 88 degrees.

The warm temps are making me long for the......

Or a.......

Don't get me wrong. I love Summer. I just don't like it in the middle of Winter.

Even if.....

Is a snowflake too much to ask for this time of year?

  1. So funny! I was thinking the same thing! Remember, I live in Hemet and this past weekend, my eleven year old tugged out her little plastic pool and went swimming!

  2. I like your winter inside! We are cold for the past two days and then it will be in the 60's again for the weekend. 2 whole days of winter. :(
Enjoy the weather and your winter decor!

  3. You are so funny. I enjoy your sense of humor, Kim. Love the letters in your winter cards. Are they available on the web? ~ Sarah

  4. I haven't been to your blog in forever! I've missed it!!!

As a fellow So Cal dweller I know exactly what you're talking about. On Christmas day we sat and watched hummingbirds, honey bee's and butterflies on our deck. As odd as this sounds, it's depressing me a bit:( I want to snuggle up with some hot tea and a blanket once in a while instead of feeling like I should be out jogging or something. I'm hoping for a little rain but so far, none in the forecast!

    Happy New Year!

  5. I know what you mean, Kim. We're in Texas, and it should be warm tomorrow. We had 80's a few weeks ago. I need some soup and chili weather, not hamburgers or Chinese takeout. Love the way you used your pictures to complete your sentences. Tell me please, how did you put the red letters on the map pieces ?

  6. LOL I love this post. I've been wondering where all the snow is too! Here in Minnesota we should be digging ourselves out of the pretty white stuff by now. Only a few dusting has come our way though. Everything is brown and frozen - not very inspiring if you ask me.

  7. No snow here either. LOL. Hot! Hot and more Hot coming. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope twenty twelve is everything you wish for and more. I am so glad I found you. I will follow on my way out so I can revisit. I hope you can find the time to come visit me and do the same. I look forward to engaging throughout the year. Cheers SpecialK XoXo

  8. We are having warm weather here on the east coast too. What's up with Mother nature? I would like a little snow, it makes everything seem so homey and cozy.

Love all your mantels and hutch vignettes.

  9. Hi Kim!

We also had a great week of warm weather... or so I heard.

I have been stuck in the house trying to organize my Christmas decorations. I will be taking the next week and organizing the garage. Better now when it is not too cold or 130 like it is in the Summer!

We are thinking about moving to the Temecula area, or at least somewhere closer to the San Diego are since The Mr. now works there. Only been here in Palm desert for one year... I HATE moving!

    xoxo Bunny Jean
