Winter Mantel
I finally got my Christmas stuff all put away. Well, almost. I decided to leave a few things out as "Winter" decor.
Today I'll show you my "Winter" mantel.
I added these larger felt snowflakes. I added some sparkly "snow" with some spray glue.
The snow angels are actually ornaments that I've found at a couple of thrift stores.
I think they are perfect for my "winter" mantel.
I took down my book page wreath from the mirror and added this vintage looking snowflake instead.
I made a "Winter" banner using some vintage letter images that I had on my computer.
I took down the mercury glass tree & added a third mercury glass candle holder instead. I covered the "faux" candle with some wide burlap ribbon I have.
I removed the smaller mercury glass votive holders I had in exchange for these larger ones. I added a few pine cones as well.
On the right side I added another felt snowflake that I added the sparkly snow to as well as another snow angel.
I love how my "winter" mantel turned out.
I will enjoy this for a couple of weeks before I break out the Valentine decor.
Tomorrow I'll hopefully show you my "winterized" china hutch. Or maybe I'll get a few of my cloches in a "winter" mode to show you.
Too bad we don't get any real snowflakes here in southern California (at least where I live). But a girl can dream. Or better yet, decorate in snowflakes.

I am now about over all this winter though after getting over 5 inches of snow here today in SC. Oh, I also really like the snowflake over the mirror, that looks so great!

ReplyDeleteI love how you make these transitions. We just moved to a new house that has three - count them - 3 mantles, so I've got my work cut out. I just took down my wintery white christmas mantle - never occured to me I could just morph it into something that would last the next month. Lovely

Kim, where did you get that vintage print for your Winter Banner? I'd love to do a similar one!
ReplyDeleteOh, I had to tell you! You know the rustic stick looking Christmas trees that are very spindley looking? I walked into CVS ( of all places) and they had a set of three, 90% off!!! ZYes, I bought three of them for 2.90! 4', 3',2' good deal huh?
