Tablescape Thursday-Roosters

It's time again to play with our dishes. I had planned on showing this tablescape last Thursday. But I didn't get it done in time to post last week. But I did get it done in time to post for the Rooster Party hosted by Belle Vista last Friday. If you missed my post about it, you can see it by clicking here.

Since I love this tablescape, I thought I would show it off again this week for Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to visit Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch to see this weeks participants. But don't tell her I was late to the party.
I got excited when I found these rooster plates on target.com a few weeks back. When I saw them, I had to have them. But don't tell my hubby. I'm not suppose to be buying anymore plates. I got my plates for $9.99 plus shipping. I can't believe they are now charging $30.00 for these same four salad plates. They are including free shipping for them now. But I only paid a little less than $20.00 for plates, shipping & tax a month ago. Aren't they fabulous? I know you want them too, don't you? And if you do, here is the link to them. I won't tell your hubby if you won't tell mine. I can't believe they are charging $30.00 for them now.

Since I did this tablescape for the rooster party, I had to have roosters. And this is my favorite rooster. I got this one on clearance at Joann Fabric a month or two ago. I paid $8.00 for it. Most of the comments I got from the Rooster party said they liked this rooster the best.

This set of salt & pepper shakers started me off on my rooster collecting. I can't remember where they came from. I'm thinking Cracker Barrel store. We don't have Cracker Barrel here in SoCal, so I always have to stop when I see one on vacation. Whey don't we have Cracker Barrel in southern California? Anyone know? I can't be the only one who lives here who wants one.

This set of salt & pepper shakers came from Burlington Coat Factory years ago. They match a rooster cookie jar that I have. I still like the other S&P set better. Probably because I like black & white so much.
Here is a closeup of the rooster plate. Very frenchy!!! I love the damask pattern on the rooster as well. Target.com ladies, target.com. For the dinner plate I used my Burgundy $1.00 plates from Big Lots. I bought them to use on my 4th of July tablescape. But I loved using them in this tablescape as well.
I then tucked a Waverly rooster napkin between the Burgundy plate & the white charger plate. I bought these napkins off of ebay a few years back. I was going to use the fabric for something else, but since I am now into tablescaping, they are actually being used for what they were intended. I love black & white, or cream & black toile. Add roosters to the mix & I am in love!
I forgot to take a photo of just the white charger plate. I got these this summer from Amazon.com. Here is the link to these charger plates. They were on clearance, four for $24.01 with free super saver shipping (when you spend $25.00). I actually got them for free as I had a $25.00 gift certificate. The black & white damask place mats were from Ross a few months back. I think they were $8.00 for four.

Silverware was a Marshall's clearance from last year. I don't know who they are made by and I don't care. I love them.
And my Walmart Libby goblets. The crystal candlestick holders I've had for years & don't remember where they came from. I'm thinking from a Home Interiors party. But don't hold me to that.

I added four tea lights around the rooster for extra light.
And one final look.

Well thanks for stopping by. I had fun putting this tablescape together. This table is getting me in the mood for fall. Too bad the weather here in SoCal isn't cooperating. It's been over 100 degrees every day for the past 3 weeks. But we did finally get some rain yesterday.

I might try & squeeze in one last summer tablescape next week. I've had one planned all summer. I just haven't gotten around to executing it yet. Maybe if I get my family room table cleared off and get my niece to help me, it will get done. If not, there is always next summer.

Well enjoy your last days of summer and enjoy your Labor Day weekend. What are you going to do? We are having a pool party & BBQ at our house. And you are all invited. Just bring your own food & pool floaty. And don't forget the sunscreen. I'd hate for you to get burned.

  14. How wonderfully French country! Love the rooster plates. LOL....I didn't know they had Cracker Barrel's West of the Mississippi!
    We here in Ohio..Cincinnati...
didn't get one til the mid-70's.
There was a thing about Bob Even's Resturant. A northern Ohio country resturant didn't go below the Ohio river and Cracker Barrel didn't come above it. We drove over 100 miles one way to get to the closest one in Corbin, Ky. Now you find them both all over the north, south, and midwest.

  15. Your rooster theme tablescape is really great. I love the red and black color scheme. The large rooster centerpiece is great, and such a bargain. Why can't I find deals like that? The Frenchy plates are great, too. I think I've said great 3 times. Well, it is great.
