Where is Winter?
The calendar says it is winter.
The weather here in southern California says something completely different.
We have had temps in the high 70's to low 80's for the past week or so.
More like Spring weather instead of Winter.
And I love winter.
But then, I don't live where it snows and freezes.
I want me some winter, I need some winter.
So I gave myself some.
At least in my family room.
What says winter more than white, snowflakes, snowmen & trees?
I don't feel so bad about putting away the Christmas decor.
I still get to enjoy a little bit of it.
The chenille snowflakes were on my tree.
I also nabbed snowflake ornaments from my tree as well.
We need some birdies.
And the birdies need a birdhouse. Don't want them to freeze to death.
This snowman was an ornament on my tree as well.
And we needed a new sign to remind us it is indeed Winter.
I had to come up with a "w", "e" and "r" for this sign (already had the other letters).
I'll share later in the week how I made this sign.
Translation: I need to take more photos. UPDATED 1/15: click here to see how I made this sign
UPDATED 1/15: I tweeked my mantel just a little. To see tweeked mantel, click here.
Nothing new was used for my winter decor.
Just reused Christmas stuff and other items from around my house.
This is my first time decorating just for winter.
I kind of like it.
If only Mother Nature would cooperate.
And she just might.
We are suppose to get rain in a couple of days.
And southern California could sure use the rain.
Come to think of it. So could I.
Now if I could just get it to snow.
UPDATED 1/13: It rained a little today & the temps are in the 60's. Winter has officially arrived in SoCal.
