My Easter Parade

Welcome to my Easter Parade.

Don't worry, I saved you a front row seat.

So put on your best Easter hat and enjoy!

We'll start off with an oldie but goodie. The Pier One moss bunny. Remember when these were so popular just a couple of years ago? They were everywhere in blogland.

He's the Grand Marshall in our parade. He is sitting high in a brand spankin' new picket fence bucket from Michael's. But don't worry, we got a deal on this beauty, 50% off.

Sitting shot gun is Pansy the bunny creamer. She hails from Home Goods from a couple of years ago. And the purple cabbage? I found it at Michael's sometime ago as well. I was going to make a small Easter basket with it, but so far I've procrastinated making it for about 2 or 3 years.

Our 2nd entry in the parade is Flopsy and Mopsy. They've already been on their Easter Egg hunt.

They are here representing Home Goods as well. Their float too has some cabbage and a velvety looking green ball for some added texture.

The Easter paper plates are new this year. I found them at TJ Maxx. I wuv them.

Speaking of love. I love, love, love this. I found it on eBay a long, long time ago.

Aren't these chickies just too cute?

I just love vintage looking Easter stuff. These are made by Seasons of Cannon Falls.

A few years back I had such a love affair with eBay. I ate and breathed eBay. I sold on eBay in order to support my eBay buying habit.

This lamb came by way of eBay. I purchased 2 glass Easter cloches from the same buyer. But this one with the lamb arrived with a broken glass cloche. Luckily I had a back up.

Here is the other one. You can see how the glass was actually suppose to be. But this one didn't come unscathed either. See the bunnies? They came unglued from the bottom. So each year when I get this out to display. I have to shake around the bunnies until they are sitting in just the right spot. It's my annual Easter game. Get the bunnies in the right spot without breaking the glass in the process.

This particular eBay seller was a gem. She gave me all my money back. I do feel guilty as I still get to enjoy them both. I just had to make some compromises.

And my Easter parade wouldn't be complete without some Easter grass.

I took these photos just 2 days ago & the grass has already grown 2 more inches since this photo. I love my Easter grass.

Another Seasons of the Falls Easter diorama. I love them. This one is suppose to have a Welcome Spring banner. But it fell off & I'm too lazy to glue it back on. And the bunny on the right? He came unglued as well. I just have him leaning against the back of the egg.

Someday I'll fix this. But I can still enjoy it as is.

I just adore all the vintage looking elements of these dioramas.

I know this parade seems like it is going on forever.

Well, that's because it is!

But we are almost done, so hang in there.

I have so many glass cloches. I'm obsessed with them. And I'm obsessed with decorating for holidays.
I have no clue where I got this bunny trinket box. I'm sure I got it as it reminded me of Limoge boxes. Which by the way, are too rich for my blood. So this is my cheapo version. My guess, it came from Big Lots or some sort of Dollar store.

I have 2 cheese dome cloches on my hutch. Under each I placed a egg holder from Home Goods. This one has the chickie one.

I already had 3 apothecary jars and lucky me, hubby found 2 more at a house he was cleaning out. I decided to use 2 that were the same size and one a little bigger here on my hutch.

I found this metal egg at the thrift store a few weeks back for 50cents. I love it!

The cookie cutters are a new purchase this year as well. But now, I can't remember if they came from Target or from Walmart. Or maybe somewhere completely different. My memory isn't what it used to be. Who am I kidding? I've never had a good memory.

In my house we use cookie cutters for decorating with. Not for making cookies.

The paper mache eggs came from Home Goods a few years back. And you can sort of see the other egg holder under the cheese dome. This one is a bunny.

And finally I placed a small silver thrift store basket under this glass cloche. I cut out a vintage looking rabbit print & placed in the basket.

And finally my parade is over.

Time for the Easter Egg hunt. Except I forgot to hide the eggs. In fact, I haven't even dyed them yet. I guess that is OK since my Grandson isn't going to come to my house until the week after Easter. So I still have a little time. Besides, it's more to fun to dye eggs with kids.
