Signs of Spring

Spring is officially just a few days away. But here in sunny southern California, it's been spring for the past week. In fact, it's almost been summer. We've had temps in the high 80's where I live. I personally like the temps in the high 70's the best.

We don't get spring temps for very long here. We usually go straight from winter to summer. So I better enjoy the spring weather while it lasts.

So while the temps got me in the mood, I decided to do some spring decorating. Did you notice that I said spring decorating & not spring cleaning? Who wants to clean when the weather is fabulous? Not I!!!! I hate cleaning! Decorating is much more fun.

Today I will share a few areas of my family room. I did not buy anything new this year. Not that I didn't want to, I just don't have the money.
I like how this shelf turned out.
The candle holder I picked up last year at a thrift store. I did just add the crystals. I like to pick up crystals when ever I can. The green ball came from Michael's last year on clearance. The birdies I got a year or two ago. So now I can't remember where they came from. They were less than $5.00 for the set though. I picked up 2 sets. The Spring wreath was from Michael's a few years back.
The topiary I picked up from Ross last year on clearance for $3.00. The small urn was a thrift store find for 50 cents. I added a Dollar Tree ball on top.
The artichoke/pineapple/or what ever it is statue came from Marshall's last year.

Next is the trunk that sits just below the shelf.
The glass candle holders were a gift from my sister at Christmas. I added battery operated tealight candles from Dollar Tree. They are sitting on a thrift store silver tray.
This glass house terrarium/cloche came from Goodwill last year for $3.00. I bought the square white plate at Home Goods last year. The bird nest and eggs I made for my wedding 4 years ago. The birdie is from Michael's a few years back. I just noticed that he is sitting backwards. I guess he is camera shy.

Here is another nest with eggs from my wedding. I just used Spanish moss for the nest. The birdies are from Dollar Tree last month. I was going to paint them, but I kind of like them how there are.
This bird nest and eggs was a Home Goods find last year.

I picked up this little cast iron bird bath at Goodwill last year for $3.00.

And finally is the end table next to my couch.
I have an old dictionary that my table lamp sits on. I placed this small candle holder next to the lamp. Added another Michael's clearance green ball from last year. And a small spring mini wreath.
The bust was an antique store find last summer for $3.60. You can see the base of the table lamp in this photo. It was a thrift store find as well.

Come back tomorrow & I'll share my spring china hutch. This year I've stuck mostly to green and white/cream for my decor.

I'll probably change most of this up this weekend when I do get my Easter stuff down from the attic. That is, if I get it down. "If" is the operative word.

Has spring reached your neck of the woods?
