My Spring Tablescape

Since I have been in a green & white mood for spring, it is only natural it would branch off onto my table.

So for Tablescape Thursday this week, I give you my Spring Tablescape.

My tabletop needs to be refinished so I had to use this tan colored tablecloth. I got it at Walmart last year for about $10.00. I like that it sort of looks like burlap, but is much softer. I guess I should have ironed it. But I didn't. So we will all have to live with that.

The moss runner is new. I got it last weekend at the new Michael's in town. I had a 50% off coupon so I got it for $6.49. The only problem is, it is sort of stinky. My hubby came in & wanted to know what smelled. I told him it was probably the runner. He got up closer & agreed it was indeed the runner. Other than the smell, it looks fabulous. And now that it has been a few days, it doesn't stink as much. Either that or we are just getting used to the smell.

The brown rattan placemats came from Ross last year. As well as the bamboo flatware.

I love the darker bamboo flatware better than the lighter colored ones. The dark goes with more of my dishes. I think I paid $12.00 for a set of four place settings.

The napkins came from Walmart a year or so back at Christmas time. I did iron the napkins for you. The wooden napkin rings were a thrift store find last year.

I love these salad plates. I found them last year at TJ Maxx. I think they were $2 or $3 a plate. The green leaves just calm me for some reason.

The dinner plates are my latest ironstone find. I got a complete set of dishes for $15.00 at the thrift store. 8 plates, 7 salad plates, 8 saucers, 7 tea cups. But no bowls. I already had 4 dinner exactly the same that I had picked up over the years from various thrift stores.

Here is the stamp on the back of the white ironstone. Even though it isn't English ironstone, it is still ironstone.

The birdy finials came from Michael's this year. I got them on clearance.

And of course, what is a spring tablescape without Harold & Maude my Target birdy S&P shakers. I had a heck of a time remembering where I had put them last year. I thought they had flown the coop.

The white vase came from Restoration Hardware about 15 years ago. A girlfriend gave me $100 gift card for Christmas one year & this was one of the items I bought. I love that store, but it is way over my budget. So it is thrilling when someone gives me a gift card so I can shop there. OK, so it has only been once, but it was still thrilling. I actually broke the vase a few months back but hubby glued it back together. He has many talents. You can only tell on the backside that it was ever broken.

The green flowers (I have not a clue what they are) came from Michael's a few weeks back on clearance.

The hurricane vases came from Walmart about 4 years ago. They were like $5.00 each. I used them for my wedding. I still have 6 of them left. For this tablescape I filled 2 of them with small rocks and moss from the Dollar Tree. Placed a cheap candle on top & surrounded the candle with grapevine I picked up at my local thrift store for 25 cents.

The glasses are my Walmart Libby goblets. Four for $5.00. Cheap!! I've had them for years.

I hope that you have enjoyed my spring tablescape. Now if only I can keep the clutter off the table for a week, I will be happy.

Any maybe I can get my hubby to use one of his many talents & refinish my table top this weekend. But I'm not holding my breath. As he will probably want me to clean the garage in exchange, and I really don't want to do that. I'd rather play with my dishes.

  1. I absolutely love this table with all it's natural elements. Love that moss runner and I love what you did with the hurricane lanterns. I am going to copy that for sure! Love the bamboo flatware too, and to think you found it at Ross? I'm off today to Michaels for that runner and Ross hoping to find that flatware.
    Beautiful table!

  2. Kim, I love your spring tablescape. I love that moss runner. Good thing we don't have smellavision on the computer!!

  3. What a pretty table. I love the moss for a table runner. Your green and white is so petty. I am really into green too. Love the dishes. Beautiful candles also. Such a fresh and inviting table. Hugs, Marty

  4. Beautiful table Kim. That moss runner is really unique, I hadn't seen anything like that.

  5. Just gorgeous! LOVE the green and white -- what an amazing runner! That vase caught my eye in the very first photo -- so pretty with those flowers -- bells of Ireland? Very elegant table!

  6. I love your green and white table Kim! Only problem, you made me laugh with your comment about the runner stinking and now my stitches hurt! hehe. I have some of that same federalist ironstone. I got it at a garage sale and the lady only charged me .25 cents a piece. What a deal. anyhoo, your table is very creative! Cindy

  7. Kim, love your green table, even if the centerpiece smells...the flowers are bells of Ireland, I believe. The bird finials are adorable.

  8. Lovely table. Love the greens, browns and earth colors with the pop of white!

  9. Love your table...every element of it. I have the bowls to match the green leaf plates. I think I would rather buy another tablecloth than have to clean the garage...but that's just me. Maybe you need to suck up to him and tell him what a wonderful job we thought he did painting the hutch! :O)

  10. love the fresh spring table - febreeze the runner :D

  11. Hey Kim, thats so funny. Your perfect grass runner reminds me to a golf place. And it goes so well with the bamboo flatware and rattan chargers.
And your dishes are stunning, shortly: it's a perfect talescape.
I am glad, that I looked at 96 tablescapes until now, to find this one. Thank you for sharing your great idea.
    Greetings Johanna

  12. The best spring tablescaping so far this week.

Bamboo flatwares & rattan chargers are pretty. Reminds me in the Philippines.

    TY for sharing.

  13. I love your table setting. It is just wonderful. I am going to try and get one of those moss runners too and hope it wont smell :-) I am a new follower to your blog. I hope you have a chance to come say hi. Cheers, Lia

  14. Love the green and natural elements of your tablescape. And you're good with words, too. I enjoyed your comments as we journeyed through your creation. Very nice!

  15. Very pretty in green and white and the little birdies, etc!

Maybe the grass runner has fertilizer in it! Hee-hee!

  16. Question: does the moss runner lay flat ok? Does it curl at the ends?

    1. I can't really remember as I did this tablescape a few years ago & totally forgot about using the moss runner again. I'm thinking it must have rolled up & that is why I put the charger & plates on each end of it. The runner did come rolled up & usually when something has been rolled up, it tends to continue to curl at the ends.
